The club is administered by a committee of dedicated people...there is always a need
for fresh blood within the organisation structure, so don't be shy in coming forward....
but of course, there are lots of other people involved in the background.
We've put together
a "who's who" to help you put a face to a name (but obviously some of the images below are temporary...
cloning hasn't yet been perfected !)
Hi, I'm Laura Tongs, the Junior Club Captain at Stafford Apex (and yes that is my dad
towards the bottom of the page ! )
I've swum for Apex since I was 8 years old, swam in 7 county championships,
6 midland championships and 3 national open water championships. I even managed
to swim in an international 3km open water championship last year.
As junior club captain I am here to support and motivate all swimmers at Apex and hope that
I have done this well so far. I attended all of last years diddy's and really enjoyed
supporting the swimmers and look forward to this years events.
I am always here if you ever fancy a chat or want a few tips (but you're
better talking to the coaches for the tips - honest!).

Hi, I'm Adam Lake, the Junior Club Captain at Stafford Apex (If you want to see my Mom and Dad look like they
are below me on the page) I've swam for Apex since I was 7 years old, swam in 7 county championships, 6 midland
championships, 1 national open water championships, 4 national Championships and have represented Staffordshire
13 times. This year I am currently taking my GCSE exams but will try my very best to attend all galas, to help
and support the young swimmers. As junior club captain I am here to support and motivate all swimmers at
Apex and hope that I have done this well so far. I attended all of last year’s diddy's and really enjoyed
supporting the swimmers especial seeing them get into the final, and look forward to this year’s events.
I am always here if you ever fancy a chat or want a few tips (but you're better talking to me than the coaches
for the tips...honest ;-)).

The club committee is split into executive and non-executive members:-
Apart from committee members and coaching staff, the club depends on it's crew of helpers, poolside assistants, timekeepers and the like.
If you fall into this group of "unsung heroes" and aren't listed below - please shout at Allan Colcough - not your webamster (sorry Allan!).
Without helpers the club simply couldn't function, so the importance and value of the time that all our helping hands give mustn't be understated.
Likewise, if you'd like to see your name here - speak to anybody who is....we can always fit you in somewhere !
Without a great coaching team, we'd have no swimmers. Simple! With five coaches who each take responsibility
for their own squads within the club, the development and progress of each swimmer is monitored. Whilst every member of the team
tends to know who is "their" coach. that's not to say you won't bump into any one of them at your training sessions....get to know them well. They're all watching
you in those lanes !!
